Most of us kick off the New Year with intentions, resolutions, and goals to live healthier.
The main reason we don’t follow through is lack of time.
I’d like to challenge us by offering that there is plenty of time. It has more to do with consciously choosing how we spend our time.
Begin by noticing how often technology distracts you.
This means noticing when and how often you check your emails and text messages, get lost online, talk on the phone or watch TV.
For example, you boot up your computer with the intention to create a document. You decide to quickly check your inbox. Before you know it, you’ve lost 20 minutes and your creativity.
Mindfulness will help you stay focused. Notice when you get distracted. Take a breath or two. Bring your attention back to the task at hand.
It is possible to create more time to do the healthy things that are important to you.
