When you awaken in the morning, see if you can pretend you don’t know the person you share a bed with.
Try to look at this person with fresh eyes.
Be curious. Consider asking a question rather than assuming you know their response.
Be present. When this person speaks, listen. Listen with your whole self.
Listen without judgment and without the need to solve or fix anything.
Reflect what was said with a simple phrase such as, “It sounds like you…”
Look into their eyes.
Thank them for sharing. It takes courage to be vulnerable.
Allowing ourselves to be vulnerable makes it possible to love more deeply.
